I want to share the story of an incident where my lola’s bag got snatched inside a Shopping Mall.

But before anything else, let me first describe the main character of the story, my lola, Lola Salome. My lola is 64 years old, active and still full of life. She built a shop here in our house and she sells bags, perfumes, clothes, and gift items.

Earlier today, I went to the Philippine Christian Book Store (PCBS) with my fellow batch mates taking Orcom 199, which is Orcom Thesis Phase One: Design, under Dr. Agbayani for a scheduled Bible Tour. The topic of the tour is about How the Bible Scriptures Were Transcribed to Cater the Needs of the People.

The tour started with the 13th Century B.C. when gospels were just orally transferred by God to Abraham. Traveling is one hobby that I always enjoy doing. I go back and forth from Laguna to Manila, at least two hours a day, and six days a week. Not to mention being constantly exposed to the ever-changing weather, from intense heat to immense rain fall. In fact, I have done it for the past four years of my life.

Even though I take the same route from home to school every day, it never gets boring. Each day is a new day. There are different passengers, different bus drivers and conductors, different vendors selling bukopie, cassava cake, and the ever-popular mani(peanut). There’s also the TV or the radio that helps in killing time while inside the bus. So I find no reason to feel sick and tired of the routine.

Another reason that is crucial in shaping the perception towards traveling is the vehicle’s quality. I take the bus everyday and there are several characteristics that I consider in selecting whether to ride it or not. Continue Reading »

Orcom “BJ”

Everyday, we strive to do things in the best way possible.
All of us work hard to feel noticed and to stand out, if not, we at least do not want other people to view us as just another person.
This is a challenge that we all face, the challenge of making things uniquely as possible so that it would stand out among the rest. Continue Reading »
